There are a lot of video game developers that specialize in first-person shooters. We've got studios like Infinity Ward, id Software or Epic Games, but none of them is as respected as Crytek, creator of the iconic Far Cry and the more recent Crysis series of games.

It has always pushed the envelope in terms of graphics and new features, quickly gaining a reputation of a high-quality studio. We've heard a few days ago about the new trademarks that the studio has made, but now we've got an even bigger announcement from the developers, as it has just launched a free trial of the multiplayer-only Crysis Wars release.

Starting from now, you will be able to experience all of the game's three multiplayer modes online on all the 23 maps currently supported by it. For those of you who don't know, Crysis Wars is the dedicate multliplayer mode bundled with Crysis Warhead, a title that we have already reviewed some time ago. The free trial runs until April 17, leaving you plenty of time to experience some online action in the futuristic nanosuits.

“When Crysis Wars was released seven months ago, one of our biggest goals was to be able to deliver continued support to our growing multiplayer community,” Cevat Yerli, CEO and president of Crytek, says. “We think we have delivered on that promise, not only by releasing new content, fixes and our powerful MOD SDK, but also by continuing to offer these types of free trials.”

Crytek has also revealed that EA, the publisher of the Crysis series, will release a special compilation of all the three titles, dubbed the Crysis Maximum Edition. It will be available in early May in retail stores across the world and in the online EA Store for download.

Crysis Wars offers some great multiplayer action, and you definitely can't beat the price now. If your computer can run it, then you have no excuse not to try this special offer.
