Play CS: Source, Call of Duty 2 and 4 Like You Never Did Before!

- Switchblade brings in some new technology

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

Everybody knows it: first person shooters are best played with a mouse and keyboard on PC, but a little bit of variety can do no harm whatsoever. And that bit of variety comes from Blue Orb who updated their popular Switchblade application (which is completely free) to support blockbusters
like Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty 2 and the ever-popular CounterStrike: Source.

This means that, if you want to, you can now play any of these games using your Xbox 360 controller. Probably not the greatest way of playing a shooter on your Personal Computer, if you ask me, but nevertheless a good alternative if you think your skill is too high or you just want to see why the mouse and keyboard are still the best.

"Since SwitchBlade was such a resounding success in the MMO sphere, we decided to take the next logical step, and tackle the PC's definitive genre – the shooter," said Aaron Levin, Vice President of Business Development at Blue Orb. "We took our first leap with our Half-Life 2 Blade a month ago, and now we're supporting one of the most popular titles out there with Call of Duty 4."

Blue Orb's application had a great success after the developers implemented controller support for the evergreen MMO, World of Warcraft and since then they continue to update it for some of the best PC games today. The games that are supported by Switchblade include Guild Wars, Hellgate: London and Half Life 2. And you will always find the latest Switchblade software available for download from our website.

So, if you want to virtually blast some Buddhist monks in Counterstrike, or you are just a masochist, try playing a shooter using the Xbox controller. You will then realize how valuable your keyboard and mouse really are. Or not...
