Platinum Games, one of the best known Japanese game development teams, believes that the quality of a title is not in any way influenced by the territory where it is developed.

Jean Kellams, who is the writer and international coordinator at Platinum Games, has stated on Twitter that, “The problems with Japanese games aren’t that they are JPN games or that they are Westernised games.”

He added, “The problems with JPN games are simple: Most of them aren’t very good games. People don’t buy those. Most games from anywhere aren’t good. That’s why exceptional means exceptional.”

Platinum Games is now working on a new Project P-100 on the Nintendo Wii U home console, designed to show off the new capacities of the hardware platform.

The team is also working on Anarchy Reigns, which is being developed by SEGA, and should be launched on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 during 2013.
