Heidi Montag says marriage to Spencer Pratt fell apart because of her addiction to plastic surgery

In her first tell-all interview since her acrimonious split from Spencer Pratt, reality star Heidi Montag talks about how her 10-hour surgical marathon that left her looking like a “porcelain doll” has changed her life – and ultimately ruined her marriage.

In the latest print issue of Life & Style magazine (out at newsstands now), the star talks about how soon to be ex husband Spencer was initially opposed to her getting the drastic makeover and how he ended up paying for her decision.

This comes to put to rest rumors that it was Spencer who actually pushed Heidi into getting this much surgery (she looks like an entirely different person from the Heidi of 3 years ago and she’s only in her 20s) and to confirm that she’s, indeed, determined to have a makeunder.

Speaking with the mag, Heidi reveals Spencer “begged” her not to get surgery, but she wouldn’t listen to him. She’s now come to regret having decided to become so transformed with a series of very intrusive surgical interventions, but still believes there’s a way to right the wrong.

“Spencer begged me not to get the first surgery and it almost broke up our relationship,” Heidi says for the magazine about her first nose job and breast augmentation, back in 2007.

“Then he begged me not to get the second one and it did break our relationship,” she adds with regret.

It was having to constantly take care of her that eventually pushed Spencer away, the star explains. At one point, he even had to accompany her to the bathroom and help her with her underwear – clearly, no husband of just 7 months wants to deal with that so early in his marriage.

“It was just so much pressure. No one wants to be taking care of his wife – who looks like she was in a horrific accident – 24 hours a day, when he begged her not to do it in the first place. Spencer didn’t sign up for this in our marriage,” the reality star says.

In the same interview, Heidi reveals her intention of getting a makeunder, starting with downsizing her implants from a massive G cup to a D or perhaps a double D.

Ironically enough, in May this year, plagued by speculation that she was becoming addicted to painkillers and was having serious body image issues because of the surgery, Heidi was taking her frustration online, to say she’d never made a better decision in her life.

“My last surgery was the BEST decision of my life! Anything else anyone says (family members who are trying to make money off of me) is a lie! I have never felt [hotter], happier, or more amazing in my own skin. I truly look the way I have always dreamed, I love America and freedom!” Heidi was saying on her Twitter, as we also reported at the time.
