Women still looking up to celebrities for inspiration

It’s a common occurrence by now for a woman to step inside the office of a plastic surgeon, saying “I want to look like Jennifer Aniston,” sometimes without even knowing the kind of procedures she would need to at least remotely resemble her. This happens because, plastic surgeons are saying, women still look up to Hollywood when they set their standards of beauty, which is why they have just unveiled a full list of features that would, at least hypothetically, make up the perfect woman.

“Our patients continue to turn to Hollywood to determine their standard of beauty. Our patients want to look rested, energetic and, most of all, youthful like the celebrities they see on TV and in glossy magazines.” Fleming, who runs the Beverly Hills Institute of Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery, tells the media. He and partner Toby Mayer have compiled their “Famed Hottest Looks” for the last 12 years – not surprisingly, Angelina Jolie’s lips, for instance, still reign supreme on women’s wishlists.

Starting with the nose, Fleming reveals that most women who visit his offices in Beverly Hills often ask for a sleek nose, like Amy Adams or Katherine Heigl’s. The eyes that most women would want to have, and whose shape they specifically request are like Beyonce and Penelope Cruz’s – with contact lenses to make them brown. Model Tyra Banks and actress Rachel Weisz are the two stars whose chin and jawline most women envy and aspire to.

When it comes to pumping lips with fillers, the plastic surgeon reveals, most women would ask him to give them Angelina Jolie lips. Next up come actresses Rosario Dawson and Anne Hathaway, both having full lips, but with a different shape than Angelina’s. Cameron Diaz and Heidi Klum are envied for their prominent cheekbones, which most women ask to have done, Fleming says. As for skin, which is also the hardest thing to get, it seems that women prefer light-toned Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett, whose skin is of a matte pinkish porcelain shade.

On that note, the fair-head, white look is now causing a frenzy in Hollywood, so it’s no wonder that regular women too would like to borrow something of the untanned, rosy sophistication of Kate and Cate.
