Plasma Active One, an interface built on KDE SC, has made its way, for the first time, on Nvidia Tegra 2 devices, opening the door to a wider range of hardware.

Plasma Active is developed by two teams, Mer and basysKom, and they are led by Martin Brook. They have successfully booted a non-optimized version of Plasma Active on two different versions of hardware, TAB-TEG-10-1-4GB-3G and Advent Vega.

“Now that there is initial success running on Tegra 2 devices, the team wants to get their hands on a Tegra 3 device, which will soon hit the market”, said project leader, Martin Brook.

The job of both teams is now to improve and stabilize the Tegra 2 images and to make them available for testing as soon as possible.

Tegra 2 features a dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU and an Ultra Low Power (ULP) GeForce GPU with 4 pixel shaders + 4 vertex shaders.
