Plants vs Zombies and Chime Super Deluxe is coming to the PlayStation Network

The PlayStation Network is set to receive two very popular downloadable games in the following months, with PopCap and Zoe Mode announcing that Plants vs. Zombies and Chime Super Deluxe, respectively, will be launched for the PlayStation 3.

First off, we have Plants vs. Zombies, PopCap's extremely popular tower defense game, which made millions of fans on the PC and various mobile platforms, like the iPhone, as well as on the Xbox 360.

Now, PlayStation 3 owners will finally be able to use various plants to defeat the zombie horde and keep their brains safe from the undead menace.

PopCap didn't reveal any details about when Plants vs. Zombies might actually appear, but perhaps it’s for the best if you ready your "green thumb" this spring.

Next up, Zoe Mode is bringing the critically acclaimed Chime puzzle game to the PlayStation 3, with a very special Chime Super Deluxe edition.

In case you're not familiar with the game, Brynley Gibson, a producer at Zoe Mode, explains on the PlayStation Blog.

"I am proud to share some exciting news with you about our new game Chime Super Deluxe, which will be available to download soon from PSN. Chime Super Deluxe is a unique and addictive block puzzle game featuring an innovative music creation element."

"Players must cover a number of different grids with irregular shapes to form rectangular blocks called “quads.” Every shape and quad generates musical notes and phrases. As the grid is gradually covered, the song builds up in the background."

What makes this version of Chime so special as opposed to the PC or Xbox 360 editions is the fact that Super Deluxe has 10 music tracks, which will come with their own grid patterns.

Five music tracks were revealed with the announcement, and the rest are going to be shared in the following months.

The current ones include:

“Ooh Yeah” – Moby “Spilled Cranberries” – Markus Schulz “Brazil” – Philip Glass “For Silence” – Paul Hartnoll (Orbital) “Disco Ghosts” – Fred Deakin (Lemon Jelly)

What's more, Chime Super Deluxe will come with two multiplayer modes, in which players can work together or one against another.

Zoe Mode promised more details about the title in the following months, including a concrete release date, but until then you can check out a teaser video of the new Chime PlayStation 3 edition below.
