The development team at PopCap Games working on the upcoming Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare says that the entire game experience is designed to be expanded with downloadable content.

Justin Wiebe, the creative director at the studio, tells ShackNews that, "We definitely want to build on the game once it’s launched. We’re definitely taking a cue from Plants vs. Zombies 2. Using DLC and new content updates, we want to keep players engaged in the long haul."

PopCap Games plans to use some of the lessons it has learned from the launch of Plants vs. Zombies 2.

The entire experience is multiplayer focused and will allow gamers to enjoy four-player cooperative matches or to go competitive with modes that support up to 24 players.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be initially launched only on the Xbox One this year and will also be offered on the PC and the Xbox 360 in 2014.
