The Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare sequel is going to be revealed at E3 2015, during the Microsoft E3 2015 press conference. Developer PopCap has just shared a video showcasing audio sequences from the upcoming shooter.

Plants vs. Zombies may have started out life as a wacky tower defense project from PopCap Games, but soon it became a behemoth. After Electronic Arts acquired the studio, it released Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a third-person shooter that took the principles of PvZ and transformed them into fast-paced multiplayer action.

The game was a hit, and it seems that a sequel is going to be revealed at E3 2015, ahead of its promised release in early 2016.

The new title is going to debut at E3 2015 next week

After we received confirmation from EA that it was working on a new Plants vs. Zombies game and that it would be a Garden Warfare sequel, according to PopCap's job listings, a new video reveals that the title will make its public debut next week.

The new Garden Warfare game will be showcased at Microsoft's E3 2015 press briefing on June 15 worldwide.

Garden Warfare 2 might appear first on Xbox One

This could mean that, like the first Garden Warfare, the sequel will appear first on Xbox One and then on PC or PS4. Its predecessor launched in February of 2014 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. It then rolled out onto the PC in June, and finally reached the PS3 and PS4 platforms in August of last year.

Given that the new title is scheduled to launch in early 2016, it's quite possible that a similar release schedule can be applied to the sequel, provided EA's deal with Microsoft still stands.

Until then, feast your ears on sound effects from the new game in the video below and look forward to its reveal next week.
