The upcoming multiplayer shooter will work smoothly online

PopCap Games has promised that the upcoming launch of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 won't encounter any problems, as it's been organizing plenty of tests and stress periods for its servers.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is a multiplayer-only third-person shooter that will debut this week for Xbox One and Xbox 360, and later this year on the PC.

Seeing as how it's an online title, quite a few fans are worried that the infrastructure might not support the rush of users, like previous EA games, including SimCity.

PopCap's Brian Lindley has confirmed to GameSpot that the studio has thoroughly tested its online system ahead of launch.

"We've tested extensively; a lot of stress testing and...make sure everything is buttoned up and ready for launch as much as possible," he said. "So it really just comes down to preparation. Obviously, we cannot predict what's going to happen once a product is live, but [we've been] very diligent testing and making sure that when we launch, that's as smooth as possible. If there are any bumps we're going to dig into those as soon as possible."

As such, expect a smooth online experience with Garden Warfare today, February 25, in North America and on February 28 in Europe.
