The free Garden Variety DLC that's included in the next update for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare has just received a full changelog as well as a special video that highlights its different new things, like the Chomp Town map or Gnome Bomb mode.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare appeared last month and delivered a bold new reimagining of the classic franchise made by PopCap, transforming it from a tower defense experience into a multiplayer third-person shooter.

Now, PopCap is getting ready to roll out a fresh patch for Garden Warfare that includes the first free downloadable content pack for it, in the form of Garden Variety.

The DLC was confirmed yesterday and is set to go live later today, March 18, for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of the game.

In case you forgot, quite a few new things are included in the add-on, starting with a fresh map called Chomp Town, which emphasizes close quarters combat, but also a new mode called Gnome Bomb, as well as plenty of different new abilities.

Check out the major new features in the Garden Variety DLC and the new Garden Warfare update below, via the changelog posted on Facebook.

Major Features: - New Map: Chomp Town – playable in Garden Ops, Team Vanquish and Gnome Bomb. - New Game Mode: Gnome Bomb – be the first team to destroy all three gardens or graveyards with the explosive new Gnome Bomb. - Pirates have invaded Port Scallywag and Sharkbite Shores in Garden Ops - New Abilities for all characters – new character abilities are tucked away in the sticker shop (hint: Crazy Pack and higher are your best bet to get them! Supremium Pack, Incredi-Plant Pack & Vengeful Zomboss Pack have the highest chances to get them) - 125 new customization items added to the sticker shop – spread across all characters/rarities… - Added Doom-shroom potted plant consumable for plants - Added Barrel Pirate, Treasure Map Pirate consumable for zombies

PopCap also emphasized that, before the update is available for download, it's going to take down the multiplayer servers for a bit of routine maintenance. As such, for a few hours, you might not be able to play the online game on the Xbox One or Xbox 360.

Until then, you can check out a video preview of the new DLC for Garden Warfare above, showing the new map, game mode, and abilities in action.
