Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, the multiplayer-only third-person shooter from PopCap Games and Electronic Arts, will be making its way onto the PS3 and PS4 platforms this August, after appearing first on Xbox One and Xbox 360, and being scheduled for PC debut next month.

Plants vs. Zombies has amazed millions of players worldwide with great tower defense gameplay and PopCap has worked hard to bring new elements via the Plants vs. Zombies 2 mobile game.

At the beginning of the year, the studio also rolled out on Xbox One and Xbox 360 Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a multiplayer shooter that put players in the shoes of either plants or zombies and tasked them with fighting it out across many maps and modes.

The game has since received different free DLC expansions and is set to appear on the PC at the beginning of summer.

Now, EA has confirmed that Garden Warfare is going to appear on even more platforms in August, in the form of the PS4 and PS3 consoles from Sony.

"Our players have already vanquished more than 400 million plants and zombies, and we can’t wait for PlayStation gamers to add to this total," Brian Lindley, producer on Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, said. "They’ll see how accessible, yet deep, the gameplay is, and will get endless hours of fun out of the game."

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will bring forth all of its current content onto the PS4 and PS3, meaning the standard game and the two DLC expansions. There are multiple online modes, from the co-op Garden Ops, to Garden & Graveyards or Team Vanquish.

The game is already available for pre-order right now and those who get it before its release will score two digital card packs to unlock customization options inside the game. They'll also receive special Hat Packs from prestigious Sony franchises and games like Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, or Fat Princess.

"Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare lets players choose a side and wage an all-out war on their plant or zombie enemies in a variety of gameplay modes and with a jaw-dropping arsenal of outrageous weapons," EA added.

"The game features adored favorites in the series, such as the Peashooter and Sunflower, along with a new cast of characters including Ice Cactus, Hot Rod Chomper and all the Zombies players can get their hands on."

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be showcased to the world on PS3 and PS4 at E3 2014 at the Sony booth.
