Developer PopCap Games and publisher Electronic Arts are announcing that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare is at the moment available on the PC via both the Origin digital distribution service and other retailers and are delivering a launch trailer that shows the core features of the title and the variety of gameplay it can deliver.

Gamers will be able to get access to a new map called Jewel Junction, which is designed for both cooperative and competitive multiplayer.

At the same time, PC fans of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will experience for free content included in the Garden Variety Pack and in the Zomboss Down update, which includes a new Wild West theme and adds eight new playable characters and the Cactus Canyon map.

This means that the game experience is more varied than ever and that each type of player can find a character he likes and a role he is good at, as well as a group of players that he can cooperate with.

Brian Lindley, a producer on Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, states, "Fan reaction to Garden Warfare has been nothing short of amazing. We are humbled to see how our fans have embraced the game, and we’re very excited that PC players can now join in on the fun."

The game allows players to choose between the plant and the zombie factions and then choose their preferred roles before moving to the battlefield in order to take out a variety of enemies, with team play and judicious use of abilities crucial for victory.

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare has four gameplay modes: cooperative play for 2 to 4 gamers, 12 versus 12 competitive action in both Gardens & Graveyards and Team Vanquish and the 8 versus 8 Gnome Bomb.

Gamers also have the options of using the PC launch as an occasion to get the Digital Deluxe Edition via the Origin downloadable content service, which comes complete with 2 Boosters Pack, a special character customization package and 150,000 coins to spend in the game.

At the moment, PopCap Games and EA are also planning to launch Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare on the PlayStation 4 and the older PS3 on August 19, although no cross-platform play will be offered.

More DLC is also planned for all versions of the title and will arrive in the coming months, but the developers have not offered any details on what the packages might contain.
