Planar Intros Range of 42 to 65-Inch LCD Displays

Six models revealed, featuring prices close to the lowest in their industry

Planar issued an official press release through which it introduces no less than six new, large-sized liquid crystal displays, dubbed the PS-Series and measuring 42 to 65 inches.

The Planar PS-Series of displays offers a wide range of displays for commercial and digital signage applications.

With a price as low as $849 (644.10 Euro), they measure between 42 inches and 65 inches in diagonal and, in total, number six.

All of them support the full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and have video wall support, ambient-based backlight control and full-metal casings.

The 42-inch Planar PS4200TL has integrated dual touch capability and comes with an MSRP of $1,699 (1,288.97 Euro, or so exchange rates say).

The PS4200 and PS6500 don't have dual touch but still suit many retail, quick service restaurants, hospitality, healthcare, corporate meeting rooms and lobbies.

They measure 42 and 65 inches, respectively, and are priced at $849 (644.10 Euro) and $4,799 (3,640.84 Euro).

As for the PS4250, PS4650 and PS5550, they measure, in that order, 42, 46 and 55 inches, have edge-lit LED backlighting and prices of $1,199 (909.64 Euro), $1,549 (1 175.17 Euro) and $2,799 (2,123.51).

The PS4200 and PS5550 are already up for sale, while the rest will show up next month (November, 2011). More information can, naturally, be found on the company's official website, located here.

“As a leader in display technology, digital signage integrators and end-users expect an affordable, commercial-grade digital signage display from Planar and the PS-Series delivers,” said Becky Connors, product marketing manager at Planar Systems.

“Many of the current entry-level digital signage displays on the market are re-engineered televisions that lack the features required for long-life performance. The Planar PS-Series is the only family of displays in this price range built commercial-grade and backed by an industry-leading warranty.”
