It’s not uncommon for movie studios to tie-in a first trailer or teaser with a major, highly-anticipated release, and the same will happen with “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” and “Tron: Legacy.”

Aiming to be the next “Avatar” for 3D cinematography and relying on the support of the fanbase of the original game, it’s safe to say “Tron: Legacy” is the hottest release of the holiday season, if not year.

Therefore, what better way to promote next year’s summer release than by offering a sneak peek at it before “Tron” runs on the silver screen.

ComingSoon has confirmation that “Pirates 4” teaser will premiere in theaters with “Tron” and online a week earlier, which can’t but be excellent news for fans.

“Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed today that the teaser trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is scheduled to hit theaters with Tron: Legacy on December 17,” the movie-oriented e-zine says.

“With both films being released in 3D and IMAX 3D, we assume the teaser will be shown in the format for those specific theaters and in 2D in conventional theaters,” ComingSoon further reports.

The good news is that fans not planning on going to see “Tron” can still see the “Pirates” trailer, and even earlier than December 17 – though only in 2D.

“As with most movie trailers these days, we expect that the ‘On Stranger Tides’ teaser will be available online earlier that week and may debut on various TV entertainment programs as well,” the aforementioned e-zine says.

In other “Pirates”-related news, word got out the other day that Penelope Cruz’s pregnancy was somehow messing up the production schedule, as her bump was growing faster than producers had anticipated.

Apparently, in order to avoid unnecessary delays, producers had come to the conclusion that it would be best to shoot scenes with Penelope only from the bump above – and then from afar with her sister, Monica Cruz, as a stand-in, as we also informed you at the time.
