If you’re following the tablet world, you might be aware that cheap Windows 8.1 tablets aren't a novelty anymore.

Actually, prices for such devices have fallen so steeply that in Asia tablets like the Emdoor EM-l8170 go for sale for as little as $65 / €51.

As you can imagine, these slates are pretty basic, but if you’d like something a little better, like a slate with pen input, Chinese device maker Pipo has such a product selling for a budget-friendly price tag (as seen at Edward Weinart's website).

The tablet is called the W5 and has an 8-inch touchscreen display with support for pressure-sensitive writing or drawing with a digital pen, that boasts the usual 1280 x 800 resolution.

Under the hood lies an Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core processor (like any Windows 8.1 with Bing slates) fitted with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The Pipo tablet has two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP up on front) and a 4500 mAh battery. The W5 tablet offers a bit more storage and RAM memory than similar products coming from Dell, HP but the processor isn't as fast.

Anyway, the Pipo W5 with smart pen sells for $150 / €120 in China, but will cost more for international users who are bound to pay the shipping costs.
