Fancy a new tablet with an octa-core processor? Why don’t you take a look at the new Pipo T9, a slate that was recently launched by the Chinese manufacturer.

If you’re not really convinced by the value of Chinese products, the decent price tag might draw your attention in. The slate has an 8.9-inch screen and sells for $225 / €164. Under the hood, it bundles a MediaTek MT6592 eight-core chipset which is backed up by 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (via 1Pad).

The T9 comes equipped with a Retina Display, so you’re going to see the tablet arrive with an IPS panel that offers 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, something a lot of tablets out there still aren't able to offer.

The tablet also has two cameras (a 13MP on the back and a 2MP up in front) and the speakers are located in front.

We’re not being told what operating system we got running on board, but most likely it’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Overall, the tablet doesn't look too shabby, especially since its case boasts a metallic look of sorts. The Pipo T9 looks very modern and capable, so if you’re looking for a tablet with Retina Display you might actually want to give this model a shot.
