Pioneer has outed a new firmware update developed for its BDP-160 Blu-ray media player, namely version 1.06, which includes a few changes that should improve the device’s overall performance and stability.

Specifically speaking, if this fresh update is applied, the BDP-160 will benefit from improved web contents and BD-ROM playability, as well as from improved performance.

As for installing this release, you must get and extract the downloadable archive, copy the files from within the newly created folder onto a formatted USB drive, and make sure you don’t rename or modify them in any way.

Afterwards, insert the flash drive into the device’s front-panel USB port, power on the player, go to Home Menu → Initial Setup → Options → Update → USB Storage, and wait for the device to find the new firmware version.

When the update is found, a proper message will be displayed, which will also ask for permission to install the new firmware; press “Enter” at the upgrade pop-up, wait for the files to be applied, and make sure you check the currently installed version after the firmware is applied and the player restarts.

That being said, if you consider applying this latest release, then download Firmware 1.06 for Pioneer BDP-160 Blu-ray Player, take into account all the above-mentioned aspects, and stay “updated one minute ago.”
