Today, Pioneer, well known for its DJ products lineup, has just announced the availability of a new firmware build targeted at all of its DDJ-SB devices, namely version 1.05 compatible with the DDJ-SB, DDJ-SB-L, DDJ-SB-S, DDJ-SB-R DJ controllers.

This newly-released update resolves an issue encountered while using Serato DJ software, where the Vinyl indicator would not change when SLIP mode is active.

Before considering a firmware upgrade, first go to Start Menu → All Programs → Pioneer → DDJ-SB → DDJ-SB Version Display Utility (or System Profiler/Information if a Mac device is used) and make sure the currently installed version isn’t either newer or matching this release.

If checked, get and extract the proper downloadable package (available for both Windows and Mac OSes), connect the controller to the computer using a USB cable, and run the available setup.

Now, simply select the language, and then click on the “Start” button to initiate the upgrade process. Bear in mind that, while the installation is in progress, you mustn’t remove the USB cable, turn off the computer, or use the DDJ-SB’ buttons – doing so can result into an update failure.

When the process finishes, press the “Ok” button and check the firmware version once more to ensure the update has applied successfully. Also, take into account that Pioneer DDJ-SB Driver 1.000 is required to be installed before initiating the upgrade.

That being said, download Pioneer DDJ-SB DJ Controller Firmware 1.05 for your specific model, follow the above-described steps, and update your device to the latest firmware version.
