Japanese company Pioneer has just announced a new portable BDXL write on its official website.

Pioneer’s new product comes in beautiful red, black and white cases and can record Blu-ray, DVD and CD discs.

The model is BDR-XD04 W/P/B with the last three letters denominating the case color of the disc writer.

Pioneer claims that its new portable writer is the smallest and the lightest in the world, compared with what’s currently available on the market.

The quality of the BDR-XD04 writer is undoubtedly very high, as this is a Japan-made device and adheres to the country’s severe quality standards.

The BDR-XD04 is the perfect companion for an ODD-handicapped UltraBook, and it also comes with “PURE READ2 +” technology that will help the user enjoy old, scratched and generally damaged discs.

Pricing for the new Pioneer BDR-XD04 Blu-ray BDXL writer is not yet available.
