Pioneer seems to be quite active on the audio market lately, as its recent unveiling of new headphones has now been followed by the release of two speaker systems for personal computers.
The audio solutions market is one that has not been in the least suffering from a shortage of new product releases.
Even though it has been busying itself on the tablet market, creating a 10-inch device with a price of just
$299, Pioneer Computers still had no trouble releasing some
waterproof earphones.
Now, the same company has put together the S-MM301 and e S-MM751RU, which are 2.0 and 2.1 speaker systems, respectively.
The former is essentially a set of speakers that utilize the USB connectivity to get the audio from a PC, while the small size makes it good for traveling, implying a good partnership with notebooks.
They have triple coil drivers that can deliver volume levels and dynamic sound beyond what laptop speakers can manage.
Meanwhile, the S-MM751RU 2.1-Channel Computer Speaker System are good for full-spectrum audio and has satellite speakers and a subwoofer.
One asset is the control puck, which lets one directly manage the audio through a hockey puck-shaped controller with playback controls and a volume knob.
What's more, bass is enhances through the MAXX Bass Dynamic Sound technology (DSP Bass), leading to a total of 40 watts of sound (10 watts for each satellite and 20 Watts for the subwoofer).
“Our goal with these speakers is to bring that same ‘larger-than-life’ Pioneer home audio experience onto the desktop. These new computer speakers bring that experience closer for those consumers who love to listen to their music collection from their laptops and home computers,” said Chris Walker, director AV marketing and product planning for the home entertainment division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.
Already available, the Pioneer S-MM301 and S-MM751RU have prices of price of $49 and $129 respectively.
