Pioneer has recently released a new firmware update for its XDJ-R1 DJ system. Version 1.08 fixes the issue where a track in the AAC file format with aac. extension jumped back to the beginning of the track when it reached to the track end by fast forward scanning (by Jog rotation & Shift button pressing) during the track playback.

Also, the problem where the Slave (non-Master) deck playback position was delayed by 1 beat when a track with no beat at its beginning started playback on the both decks while SYNC was enabled has been resolved.

A new function is added, making it possible to call the Cue points on a track in a USB device. The track must be set and stored in rekordbox or CDJ.

The update requires that you follow the next few steps. First of all, download the Pioneer XDJ-R1 DJ system firmware 1.08 and extract the contents of the archive to your hard drive. Next, plug in a FAT32 formatted USB memory stick and copy the contents of the archive to its root folder.

Safely remove the flash drive and go to your DJ system. Turn on the power of XDJ-R1 while pressing the “SHIFT” and “USB” buttons on the left deck. The message “Downloading” should come up on the screen.

Insert the USB stick and watch as the firmware installs. The installation will take about 6 minutes and, when it's done, the message “COMPLETE” will show up on the screen. Finally, turn off the power and remove the USB stick.

Get the latest firmware for your DJ system from Pioneer, install it and stay “updated one minute ago.”
