Pioneer has recently released firmware version 1.21 for its CDJ-2000NXS (or CDJ-2000 Nexus) DJ controller. The new update fixes reported issues with the Needle Search pad function.

According to the changelog, version 1.21 fixes the issues where a sorted playlist would not be shown as it was when returning to it from one layer above and where the Master Player would be switched when an Active Loop starts.

The update procedure requires a FAT32 formatted USB memory stick and the contents of the firmware archive.

Copy the contents of the archive to the root folder of the removable storage device and, when done, safely remove it.

Next, go to your mixer and make sure it is powered off, has no devices connected (USB memory, SD Card, LINK or Computer) and has no discs loaded.

Turn on the power on your CDJ Player pressing both the “USB” and “RELOOP/EXIT” buttons and continue holding them until Pioneer DJ logo screen disappears.

When the message “Connect the USB storage device to the USB port” is displayed, release the buttons and insert the prepared memory stick.

Updating starts and the display now shows “NOW UPDATING.” During the update, make sure you do not turn the power off. It will complete in approximately two minutes.

The setup is complete when the screen shows “Firmware update is completed. Turn the power off before using.” Do as the device asks and turn it off for a few minutes.

If you consider updating your mixer, download the Pioneer CDJ-2000NXS DJ Controller firmware 1.21, install it and stay “updated one minute ago.”
