Pioneer Electronics Inc., one of the leaders in digital entertainment, have announced the expansion of their AirPlay-compatible range of products by introducing two networked AirPlay music systems called Music Tap.

AirPlay is an Apple-developed technology that lets you stream music throughout your entire house, wirelessly.

Announced last year alongside iOS 4, AirPlay is nowadays fully integrated into numerous speaker docks, AV receivers, and stereo systems from companies such as Bowers & Wilkins, Denon and, of course, Pioneer.

AirPlay does have some requirements, though, such as not the oldest iOS device you can find, and iTunes 10.

Available in Pioneer ($399) and Elite ($479) branded models, both Taps can connect to you Wi-Fi home network to enable wireless music connection using AirPlay, DLNA 1.5, vTuner Internet radio, and Pioneer’s proprietary AirJam iOS app

The systems have this crisp 2.5-inch full-color LCD display which enable users to see all their content with song information and album art.

Users can just as well control, browse and access their iTunes music library on a Mac or PC and play it through Music Tap using Apple’s very own Remote app on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Pioneer says their Music Tap systems also support AirPlay-enabled apps like Pandora Internet radio, iHeartRadio and other music streaming software, in addition to the music saved in an iTunes library.

The hardware is capable of outputting Apple Lossless quality sound and therefore “ensures that users will always enjoy high-quality audio with no degradation in sound quality when listening to music encoded with this high-resolution format,” say the folks at Pioneer.

Pioneer said their new Music Tap systems will be launched to the general population next month. It seems that pre-orders are not available as of yet.
