Windows Phone is now one of the top three mobile platforms in the world in terms of market share, but developers are still reluctant when it comes to launching their apps and games on Microsoft's mobile operating system.

Some of the most popular apps that are already available on Android and iOS have yet to make their way to Windows Phone. More than a dozen need updates that would bring them on par with their counterparts from the other rival platforms.

One of the many social apps that were not available on Windows Phone, Pinterest has just made its way to Windows Phone Store. The thing is that the developers have only launched a beta version of the application, which will be improved based on the users’ feedback.

For those unfamiliar, Pinterest is a social app that allows users to discover and plan the things they want to do. As soon as you find something interesting, you will be able to pin it in the form of a visual bookmark that you can then organize and share with friends.

The beta version of Pinterest seems to come with limited functionality, but we are certain that the developers will add new features and improvements in the next couple of weeks.

For the time being, Windows Phone users will be able to take advantage of Pinterest's capabilities when planning projects like home remodels, car restorations, garden redesigns and other DIYs.

In addition, you will be able to pin your outdoor adventures, road trips with friends, family outings and exotic vacations with the help of Pinterest.

The application also provides users with the option to collect their favorite things, including illustrations, tattoo ideas, hilarious quotes, tech gadgetry and inspiring art and architecture.

Another important feature that Pinterest users will love is the ability to save great ideas, articles to read, movies to watch, gifts to buy, fashion and beauty how-tos, food and recipes to cook, fitness tips, as well as lifehacks.

You can also get Pinterest to help you with organizing a party, with wedding decor, birthday themes, costume ideas and game day menus.

You can now download Pinerest for Windows Phone 1.0.0.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.

Developers have yet to confirm when exactly the final version of Pinterest will hit Windows Phone Store, but we expect more info to emerge in the coming weeks.
