Pink PS2 to Come in November

After the 'noble pink' version of the two touchscreen DS Lite, here comes Sony's own cherry colored PS2. Yes it is pink. Everything about it is pink and the main target is the metrosexual gamer or the female fashion addict.

Last month, Nintendo transformed its so black & white DS Lite into a pink gaming explosion preparing the ground for others manufacturers that have just been touched by the virus.

As I said, the pink model comes after the console's great success. It seems that, only two days after its launching in the United States, Nintendo DS Lite had sold a stunning 136,500 units with many major retailers totally selling out. The Nintendo DS Lite has been selling so fast that it is even outperforming the 2003 launch of the Game Boy Advance SP by 12%.

I wonder what will Sony do with its upcoming PS3? Will it launch a pink version or will it settle for the classic black? But there are three months left until then and the market is stirring up to find out more about the mass production of the console that seems to have encountered a bumpy road.

It appears that the PS3 has been partially manufactured by AsusTek, and that the company has already delivered a shipment of 200,000 by the end of July.

Remains to be seen how Sony's new shiny toy will fare, considering it is substantially pricier than its same-generation competition and games may cost more than 600$, the current standard for the highest pricing of games.
