After we’ve recently reported that no album has yet gone platinum in 2014, it seems that there might possibly be a contender that could at least break the pre-order record on Amazon. The legendary rock band Pink Floyd has announced that they would put out one final album, calling it “The Endless River.”

The official release date for the album is set on November 10, which isn't that far away, but Amazon is already gearing up for the storm of pre-orders that indicate people are already keen to get their hands on it.

A statement from the company reveals that “The Endless River” has become the most pre-ordered album of 2014 so far, overtaking Coldplay's “Ghost Stories.” One Direction's 2013 album “Midnight Memories” is the most pre-ordered of all time.

David Gilmour of Pink Floyd has already revealed the track listing and the album cover for their newest creation, which comes from the studio recording back when they were working on 1994's “The Division Bell.”

As an interesting side-note, Stephen Hawking is reported to appear on one of the tracks called “Talkin' Hawkin'” which is taken from a commercial he once did.

Former member Roger Waters confirmed, in what seemed to be a pretty angry message on his Facebook page, that he had nothing to do with this new album and told his fans to “get a grip.”
