Pinguy OS, an out-of-the-box working operating system that can be used by people that have never seen Linux before or for people that just want an out-of-the-box working OS without doing all the tweaks and enhancements, is now at version 12.04 LTS Beta.

As it was to be expected, the release of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS has made various other developers to update their distributions also, and Pinguy OS is no exception.

The only major differences from Pinguy OS 11.10 are the adoption of GNOME 3.4 and, of course, the fact that it's based on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin).

Other features include better HD video decoding, improved speed and power usage, XBMC-PVR is installed so you can use your PC as a DVR, and the latest Mozilla Firefox.

Download Pinguy OS 12.04 Beta LTS right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
