The girls want to convince drivers to quit eating meat, embrace a vegetarian diet instead

This Friday, June 14, at 12.15 p.m. on the clock, two PETA “Petrol Pin-Ups” showed up at a gas station in Chicago and started offering drivers free vegetarian sandwiches.

Those who took them up on that offer and happened to be among the first 15 customers in line even got a free gallon of gas, which the girls themselves pumped into their car.

The PETA activists, who by the way were dressed in retro auto-mechanic outfits, also held up signs reading as follows: “Fill Up on Clean Energy: Go Vegan.”

The girls hope that at least some of the people who got to try out their vegan sandwiches will consider the possibility of embracing a healthier and more eco-friendly diet.

“In a time of rising gas and energy prices and rising concern for the environment, we're going the extra mile to help Chicagoans fill up on vegan fuel for their tummies and gas for their tanks,” one of the girls said.
