With the help of the TeraStation PRO NAS from Buffalo

Whether you're a BitTorrent freak who simply can't live without having ALL the latest stuff on your system or the owner of a small company who requires a very reliable, yet not too expensive backup system, the device you're about to see as follows could actually prove to be a very good solution for your storage space needs.

Thus, the TeraStation PRO Network Attached Solution manufactured by the Japanese company Buffalo offers its users a whooping 3 TB (yeah, that's right, 3.000 GB) of storage space, quite enough to store just about anything you might dream of (including a whole lot of cracked HD DVD or Blu-ray "backup" ISO images).

As you might expect, this very interesting NAS features a RAID 1/5/10 configuration (across 4x disks), the HDDs themselves being 750 GB Seagate units with a transfer rate of around 38MB/s. And you don't have to worry, this "monster" of a storage solution also sports some pretty OK connectivity features, as for example the 1000BASE-T GigaBit Ethernet adapter or the 2 USB 2.0 jacks.

Another very interesting and useful feature this NAS (and actually, most devices from this family) has to offer is a built-in UPS, which grants it a pretty good level of autonomy, even if the user experiences certain problems with the electrical power network. Moreover, the system sports a small LCD display, which provides the user with some of the device's status data.

However, the greatest thing about the TS-H3.0TGL/R5 (that's how the 3TB TeraStation PRO is known on the market) is its price, since it's available (for now just in Japan, of course) for around 2,312 US dollars. I'd say that this is not too much for such a system, but considering the fact that 1 TB individual HDDs have already been announced and will certainly hit the market in the near future, you could just wait a few more months and get the 4 GB version.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
