Software engineer Joseph Andrew Stack III, 53, crashed his plane into the side of an office building that also housed the IRS offices a few hours ago in Austin, Texas. The crash killed two people and injured 13 others, while the damage done to the building is considerable. As per the
Guardian, the police are now investigating the possibility that Stack went on a killing rampage given his outstanding problems with the IRS.
Shortly after the crash, what looked like a suicide note written by Stack himself surfaced online, though whether it’s the real deal or not has not been determined yet. However, since the note speaks of debts and dissatisfaction with the US government and the IRS in particular, the police are considering the crash the fulfillment of a personal vendetta. Moreover, at the time the crash occurred, Stack’s house also burst into flames, with reports saying his wife and children were seen running away from the fire.
“I can only hope that the numbers quickly get too big to be white washed and ignored that the American zombies wake up and revolt; it will take nothing less. I would only hope that by striking a nerve that stimulates the inevitable double standard, knee-jerk government reaction that results in more stupid draconian restrictions people wake up and begin to see the pompous political thugs and their mindless minions for what they are. Sadly, though I spent my entire life trying to believe it wasn’t so, but violence not only is the answer, it is the only answer,” Stack reportedly writes in the suicide note.
He also says that it’s been many months that he’s been thinking about doing something like this, something that would shock and, at the same time, force other people to wake up from their zombie-like state. “I saw it written once that the definition of insanity is repeating the same process over and over and expecting the outcome to suddenly be different. I am finally ready to stop this insanity. Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let’s try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well,” the note goes on to say.
Because of the intensity of the fire and the kind of damage the small cargo plane did to the building, the police are also considering the possibility that Stack may have loaded more fuel on the plane than just the tank he needed to fly.
