Video game developer Obsidian is announcing that it is currently in the final testing phase for a patch for Pillars of Eternity, which might be delivered to gamers as soon as April 3 if everything goes well.

The studio explains that the changes are at the moment not set in stone, but is offering fans a long list of tweaks that it plans to make to the role-playing experience.

Gamers can get a look at the way Pillars of Eternity will be modified by clicking on the button at the end of this article.

The focus for the team at Obsidian is on making sure that it eliminates the nasty bugs associated with double clicking on items to get them into character slots, which at the moment results in the elimination of passive buffs and boosts for those party members.

The company is also aiming to eliminate some crashes that happened at various points in Pillars of Eternity, and there are also changes for the various weapons and items that will improve overall balance.

The game is also getting more user interface tweaks, and it seems that party members will be more open when it comes to conversations after major events.

All the changes are at the moment being tested, and an official changelog will only be offered when the first major patch for Pillars of Eternity is launched, which will probably happen late on April 3.

Pillars of Eternity had a solid launch

When the new Obsidian title was first introduced, gamers focused on the new universe and the improved gameplay mechanics, and no major bugs were reported.

In the last few days, the problem with double-clicking on equipment came to light and forced Obsidian to move as fast as possible to make sure that a fix was coming quickly.

The development team has said that it wants to listen to player feedback and to deliver patches quickly when one of the main mechanics exhibits a problem.

Pillars of Eternity offers a classic party-based role-playing experience that can appeal to both new gamers and those who loved older experiences like Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights.
