Video game developer Obsidian and publisher partners Paradox Interactive are delivering a long video for the upcoming Pillars of Eternity, which is designed to show off the core features of the game and to reveal one of the quests that gamers can complete.

The two companies state, "This is a 25 minute rundown of the beta where Chris Saywer walks us through one of the quests in the beta. Everything depicted in this beta an optional part of the game and does not spoiler anything from the story."

Pillars of Eternity is a complex role-playing experience that uses an entirely new game universe and delivers classic party-based combat with turns.

Gamers can still contribute to the title until August 22 and can change their pledges, and after that a backer beta will be offered to those who paid the required amount.

Pillars of Eternity was created using money raised via crowdfunding, and the team at Obsidian offered details about the core mechanics all through the process.

The role-playing game is ambitious and seems focused on offering a classic take on the genre, with Chris Sawyer saying that the feeling will be very close to the titles created using the old Infinity Engine.
