CNN talk show host says singer's arms are nothing short of “grotesque”

Madonna has been criticized before for her ripped physique, but never on such a public platform as The View. The other day, guest Piers Morgan literally ripped into the singer for her muscular arms.

Video of his full interview is below, embedded at the end of the article.

Morgan was a guest on the show to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his CNN show. In between dishing details on the next season and talking about an interview with Chelsea Handler, he also asked to give his two cents on the Golden Globes 2012.

As we also noted earlier this week, Madonna attended the Globes: she walked the red carpet where she posed for pictures, but also presented and won an award.

For those saying that she looked good in her gown, Morgan has just one thing to say: just look at her arms.

He even joked that the reason why the pop star was banned from his show was because she had such muscular arms.

“Grotesque. Why would any woman want to look like a caveman? I'm serious,” Piers told the ladies on The View, adding that last year's ban came into effect “mainly because of the arms.”

“I don't want arms like that on my show. Long sleeves, maybe she can come on,” he added.

He didn't stop here either.

Towards the end of the interview, after he gushes about his recently born daughter, Morgan says his idea of a worst nightmare would be if she grew up to date the son of rival Keith Olbermann – or Madonna herself.

Feuding aside, Morgan also talked about his biggest challenge when he started on the CNN show, namely the idea that he was stepping in the shoes of the legend Larry King.

“Part of my big challenge coming to CNN was replacing this legend. We've got to the end of the first year and people aren't comparing me to Larry. Because we have different shows and different styles. And that was a real hurdle to get over because he's just a legend,” he said.
