No Halftime entertainer should be older than the Super Bowl itself, he writes

It's no secret anymore that there's no love lost between CNN talk show host Piers Morgan and pop singer Madonna, though the feud seems to be mostly one-sided. After her performance at this weekend's Super Bowl, Morgan took to Twitter to vent.

After banning her from his show indefinitely and more than once making nasty comments about her as a singer, person and artist, Piers is again ripping into Madonna, this time for her Halftime gig.

Even before the almost 13-minute gig ended, he was on Twitter, speaking his mind. Many of his users agreed with him, which made him retweet what they were telling him about Madonna's show.

“I don't think the half-time entertainer should ever be older than the #Superbowl itself. Sorry,” Piers wrote in his first tweet about Madonna's Halftime performance.

He and some of his users, it would seem, believed that watching her show and enjoying it would equal enjoying seeing their grandmother in knickers, prancing around on a stage, surrounded by younger men who would feign hitting on her.

“First time I've wanted a #Superbowl half-time performance NOT to suffer a wardrobe malfunction. Yuk. Just put it away Madonna. Seriously,” Morgan wrote.

“Memo to my Grandmother - don't even THINK of doing cartwheels. Somebody. Stop. Her. My toes are actually curling,” he added.

Later on, he moved from questioning Madonna's style to questioning her status as a pop singer. She didn't sing one note live throughout the show, Piers said, even though it's believed the last part was actually not lip-synched.

“What on earth is she singing now? Sounds like a Belgium nightclub cabaret act. If someone did this on America's Got Talent, they'd be laughed (and buzzed) off stage. Truly diabolical,” he wrote.

“Has Madonna sung a real note yet, or is this whole fiasco lip-synched?” Morgan asked, before answering himself, saying that he had no idea why someone would call her the Queen of Pop.

Even he (and many others like him) didn't like Madonna's show, it would seem that most of those who tuned in for the Super Bowl actually thought it was a pretty entertaining and cool show.

In fact, initial numbers indicate that ratings for the Halftime show were actually a bit higher than those for the game itself – and reviews are also very positive.
