Brosnan has recently declared he has a lot of "self loathing" and spends hours doubting his talents.
The famous actor, who has been talking against the 007 bosses after he was ditched from the Casino Royale team and replaced with Daniel Craig, said:
"I know what it's like to loathe oneself. To feel that deep self-loathing. It's painful and ugly and [bleeping] unwanted. And it gets in the way. I can dip in there, into the old black-Irish melancholy".
The actor added to America's Life magazine: "You think, Am I smart enough? Am I equipped enough to deal with it all? You don't want it to happen, but it's part of life".
The Golden Eye star is said to join the Butterfly on a Wheel team.
The movie will be directed by Mike Barker and produced by Icon, Irish DreamTime and Infinity Feature Canada.
The story revolves around a happy couple with a seemingly perfect life, whose daughter is abducted. Over the course of a day, the kidnapper dismantles the family's lives with brutal efficiency.
