Website gets hold of new iPhone prototype

A new set of iPhone 4 images have been leaked to the Internet, this time stemming from Apple.pro, which offers what seems to be the first look at Apple’s white version of the device in question. Apple has been quite leaky lately, with several prototype units getting past its assembly factories’ fences, with more leaks being reported every other week.

Apple.pro has photos of a partially assembled fourth-generation iPhone, this time a white prototype model. Two screw holes located near the device’s dock connector indicate this is a prototype older than the one leaked by Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn. Particularly, this model resembles the one leaked by Gizmodo last month, which caused quite a stir, as Softpedia readers should know.

The images show a white front plate, the LCD screen and the iPhone’s metal casing parts put together. This, however, cannot confirm whether the device is actually a real iPhone prototype unit. In fact, it’s quite possible that the person leaking these images simply slapped a white iPhone 4G case (now available from several vendors, as 9to5mac points out) on a black model device.

As noted above, Apple has lost more than one iPhone prototype to tech-focused sites and forums. Responsible for the latest such leak is a Vietnamese source - Tinhte.vn - that, somehow, has managed to get hold of a prototype fourth-generation Apple iPhone, analyze it, and post the pictures and videos on the web. The device appeared to be a newer, production-ready model. One clue was the lack of the aforementioned two screws located to the right and left sides of the dock connector. The images, however, showed no other aesthetic changes, leading to assumptions that Apple had settled on the final form factor for its newest iPhone.

Just last week, Softpedia reported that yet another major Apple leak had been made in Vietnam. A camera-equipped, third-generation iPod touch surfaced over at Tinhte.vn, soon after the site had leaked the updated version of Apple’s polycarbonate MacBook, which then went on sale the following day.
