The Redmond-based software giant Microsoft is expected to release a new mouse, which will feature the most interesting design. With a name that pretty much says it all, the upcoming Microsoft Arc Mouse has already been spotted on the Internet in a number of pictures, confirming that the new product will soon be officially released and made available in stores.

According to a user who had the chance to test the upcoming Arc mouse from Microsoft, it is a pretty decent device, having been specifically designed for notebook users. It can fold to 60% of its fully expandable size, with this feature also helping turn the mouse on and off. On the downside, it doesn't sport Bluetooth technology, which means notebook users will still need to use the USB micro transceiver, which is rather small, but enough to top the receiver from Logitech's Nano mouse.

The Arc sports four buttons, and comes with support for both PC and Mac systems. The irony is that the user that has uploaded the pictures tested the Microsoft Arc with a MacBook Pro portable system, which goes to prove that Microsoft and Apple can get along, on some occasions. Aside from that, it looks like the mouse will be available in both matte black and red colors, with the red version featuring a glossy design. Due to its folding feature, it can easily be carried wherever you may go, with the USB adapter being attached on the bottom of the mouse, which makes it an ideal solution for notebook users.

Unfortunately, the user that has uploaded the photos with the product was unable to also supply details regarding pricing, but it appears that the Microsoft Arc has already arrived at various resellers, which means that the Redmond-based company is close to officially announcing its availability. This, in turn, means that pricing information should be made public soon, as well.

The mouse is already out. I purchased a matte black one at BestBuy for $59.99. I like this mouse quite a bit, especially the firm click of the buttons. One annoyance however is the Microsoft web site does not list the device and does not appear to have a configuration in IntelliPoint for the mouse yet.
