This past September 30 at 03:35 UTC, NASA's Terra satellite snapped a picture of tropical storm Wutip. The typhoon was caught on camera just as it was about to make landfall in Vietnam.

At that time, it packed heavy rainfall and strong thunderstorms on its western and southern sides. The winds accompanying the storm had a maximum speed of 103.6 mph/166.7 kph.

Specialists say that, judging by this picture, the typhoon's eye measured about 10 miles (about 16.1 kilometers) in width.

The typhoon is expected to travel over Vietnam's central highlands and mountainous region, EurekAlert tells us. Given the aggressive nature of the storm, specialists expect that both flooding and landslides will be reported in these areas.

What's more, rainfall brought about by this typhoon will stretch from China to Cambodia.

The same source informs us that, shortly after the storm made landfall on September 30 at about 09:00 UTC, 75 people were reported missing in Vietnam.
