This picture of a great grey owl moving in for the kill has recently been snapped in Minnesota by wildlife photographer Tom Samuelson.

As the photographer later explained, these birds of prey are extremely talented when it comes to swooping down and fetching their next meal.

This is why the mouse does not even get the chance to realize what is happening before it becomes the owl's dinner.

Most people believe that these birds are rather shy, and that coming close to them is a fairly difficult thing to do. Still, photographer Tom Samuelson believes that, “Great greys are very tolerant of humans as long as you approach them in the right manner.”

“I have had them within feet of me and they will sit there as long as you are quiet and don't move,” he reportedly went on to argue.
