The phone receives FCC approval

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has yet another handset passing through FCC's courtyard, the m850 Dash, a sleek device that emerged into the wild a few months ago. The phone was suggested to be on its way towards Sprint, and it seems that the FCC filing confirms in a way that it might reach the carrier in the near future.

The launch date for this device might come even sooner than expected, as Engadget notes, since the people over at Samsung who got the phone to FCC said in the filing that they would like it to get approval in the shortest time possible. This certainly shows that either the phone maker or the carrier that will have the handset available for its customers wants to have it on the market as soon as possible.

The are no specific details on what the Samsung m850 Dash will be capable of offering when it reaches the shelves, except for what can be spotted in the FCC filing, namely EV-DO, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Admittedly, these features are not something to throw away, yet they do not show the full potential of the device, that's for sure.

Until the specs list of the new m850 Dash will emerge into the wild, we should mention that a live picture with the phone has also been spotted, showing it in action. For what it's worth, it seems that "Dash" might not be the actual name under which the phone will come to the market, and it is expected to get the Instinct branding, although nothing is official. In case Samsung and Sprint (if the handset comes to this carrier) are indeed rushing to have the phone available in the near future, it shouldn't be too long before more details become available, so stay tuned to learn more on it.
