New details have emerged about the shooting of a man in front of a sports store, during the wait for LeBron James's new shoes.

As I wrote yesterday, a pickpocket was fatally shot by a man waiting in line. The New York Daily News mentioned that the shooter had a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

He was allegedly in the middle of an armed robbery attempt when he was shot, in what witnesses described as self-defense.

"A number of witnesses were interviewed and this appears to be self-defense," Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos says.

There is no information on whether the victim had a permit himself. The line was not disrupted by the shooting, and 45 people showed up to buy the shoes by 11:30 a.m.
