One of Picasso's mistress sold 20 of his sketches at a Paris auction Monday, with $2,44 million. One of his sketches, with Genevieve Laporte lying naked on a bed, was bought by Paris's Picasso Museum for about $750,000. Another sketch, The Dream, also with Genevieve, was sold for $661,500.
Laporte and Picasso were lovers when she was in her mid-20s although he was nearly 50 years older. The two had their on-off affair when Picasso was with the painter Francoise Gilot, the mother of two of his children. "I have a mission - rehabilitating Pablo," Laporte said before selling her collection.
