Phys.org – the popular portal providing news on physics, space science, earth science, health and medicine – was hacked earlier today.

Google and Firefox users who tried to access the site were presented with a warning message which said that malware was detected on the site.

In fact, some Google and Firefox customers might still be presented with the warning. However, according to Phys.org, they have nothing to worry about.

The site's representatives have published the following statement on their website, reassuring users that they’re not under threat: “Regarding malware warning: Phys.org has been briefly hacked today, but there is no threat to users. Google has been notified and will remove the warning in a few hours.”

This is not the first time when Phys.org is hacked. In fact, it appears to happen quite often.
