The long expected Photosynth application for devices running under the Windows Phone 8 operating system might arrive in a matter of weeks, the team behind the software has announced.

Apparently, they had to delay the official release of the app due to a series of issues with the drivers for some handsets, but the problem should be resolved soon.

Photosynth for WP8 slipped due to problems with drivers on a few important phones. Mostly behind us now. Release should be weeks away,” the team announced on Twitter.

Photosynth provides users with the possibility to easily come up with Panorama pictures by sticking together photos that users have taken for a specific location.

The application is already available for the owners of Windows Phone 7 devices, but its release for the newer OS flavor has been delayed by many months.
