Today, Microsoft has finally made the Photosynth application available for the Windows Phone 8 platform, a few months after the operating system has officially landed on shelves.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the app was designed to provide users with the possibility to easily stitch photos together to create panorama shots.

The Windows Phone 8 application can create full sphere panoramas, 360 degrees horizontally and vertically, just as the previous flavors of the software could.

The app was already published in the Windows Phone Store for Windows Phone 8 devices, yet it might take a while before it actually becomes available for download, so don’t despair if you don’t see it right away.

According to a recent post on Microsoft’s blog, the Photosynth for Windows Phone 8 application arrives with some appealing features packed inside.

Some of them include:

- Lens integration – Quickly capture and view panoramas by launching Photosynth directly from the camera. - View shared panoramas – New sharing capabilities let other Windows Phone 8 users view your panoramas on their phone, and as always you can show off your panoramas by email, Facebook and Twitter. - More camera controls – Adjust for various lighting conditions by using new exposure and white balance locking options

Those who did not have the chance to experience the capabilities of Photosynth before should head over to the Photosynth website to learn more on what the app can deliver, Microsoft notes.

Furthermore, the company notes that users coming up with highly appealing Photosynth shots that get published on the official website will also have them showed in Bing Maps and Bing search results, for millions of other users to enjoy it.

“Check out the official Photosynth blog for more info—including how to get in touch with the team directly to tell them what you think of the app,” the company also notes.
