Developed by Pearson Education and announced yesterday by Pearson’s Adobe Press, a new iPhone and iPod touch application is now available in the App Store – Adobe Photoshop CS4: Learn by Video. The innovative app features two hours of high-quality video tutorials from Adobe-certified instructor Gabriel Powell and is based on the Adobe-approved, video-training series Learn By Video, by Adobe Press.

According to the official report coming from Pearson’s Adobe Press, the application introduces the most essential topics in Photoshop CS4. After downloading the app onto their devices, users will be able to do the following:

- Take a quick tour of the Photoshop CS4 interface; - Mark any movie for later viewing; - Share tips and comments with others; - Stay up-to-date on Adobe Press news through the Twitter group; - Learn how to use the new Content-Aware Scale feature to keep the subject of the photo intact while resizing the rest of the image; - Paint special effects on layers; - Learn to read a histogram to make more informed tonal adjustments, and use layer masks to limit a tonal adjustment; - Create a web gallery for sharing photos.

“We’re always looking for new and engaging apps for Apple iPhone and iPod Touch users and believe the Photoshop CS4 video tutorials are ideal for realizing the potential of Photoshop CS4 as well as for sharing tips and thoughts with other users around the world,” Adobe Press and Peachpit publisher Nancy Aldrich-Ruenzel said.

“The Learn By Video series from Adobe Press helps prepare students for the Adobe Certified Associate exam,” Anuja Dharkar, WW manager, Curriculum, Professional Development, and Certification of Adobe Systems, added. “I love the fact that these video tutorials can be viewed on the go and they’re a great introduction to the core training for visual communication.”
