14 DAY TRIAL // At the beginning of November, Disney star Demi Lovato checked herself into a rehabilitation facility after a meltdown that occurred on a private jet, when she lost her temper and punched a backup dancer. Photos are now out.
Right after Lovato’s rep confirmed for the media that the star was seeking treatment for “older issues,” reports suggested the incident on the plane was so serious that it made her realize she needed professional help.
At the time though, there was no confirmation of the alleged beating, with unnamed sources close to her even saying that no such thing ever happened.
Now, TMZ has photos of the injuries sustained by the backup dancer in the unprovoked altercation: and, by the looks of things, it was a pretty serious beating she got. Admittedly, she was punched so hard she was thrown out her seat.
“These photos were taken days after Demi socked Alex Welch in the face – leaving visible bruises on her left eye and cheek,” TMZ writes. The e-zine also has the pics to prove it.
“Sources close to Welch tell us the dancer was simply minding her own business on a private jet leaving Bogota, Colombia... when Demi ‘walked up to Alex and with a closed fist, struck her on the left side of her face’,” TMZ says.
“We’re told Alex was knocked clean out of her seat – and had to receive emergency medical attention. Lovato was immediately removed from the plane and eventually returned home – and then checked herself into a treatment center shortly after,” the same media outlet reports.
Word in the blogosphere has it that Welch did not even say a single word to Lovato to provoke such a nasty reaction, though it is believed there may have been an older grudge between the two.
Right now, Welch is considering her legal options, TMZ notes, while Lovato remains in rehab. What this means is that there will be a lawsuit soon – keep an eye on this space for when details on it emerge.
