Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is reportedly gearing up for the release of a new series of handsets on its airwaves, most of which are not DROIDs, nor other smartphone devices. Among them, we can count the LG Clout VX8370, two color versions of Samsung Intensity II, the Samsung Haven U320, and the Verizon Salute F350 by ZTE. Of course, these are not the only new handsets Verizon plans on launching, as its roadmap should also include the Motorola DROID 2 A995, as well as the Samsung Fascinate, both running under Android.

The first handset on the list, the LG Clout VX8370, should replace the VX8360 on Verizon's offering. The handset comes with a flip form factor, sporting a 2-inch internal QVGA display, complemented by a 1.7 external display, a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, microSDHC memory card slot for additional storage space, and a price tag set at under $100 upon the signing of a 2-year contract agreement. A data plan would be required for its purchase, a recent article on phone Arena notes.

The Samsung Intensity II U460 is next on the list, a handset already spotted in a Verizon catalog. The phone should come as the successor of the Samsung Intensity U450, while being expected to land in two color flavors, namely Metallic Blue and Deep Gray. The specs list of this device includes a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 2-megapixel camera, or a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space. The phone should become available via Best Buy with a price tag of $1 with a 2-year contract, but no info on how much Verizon would ask for it emerged.

Salute F350 is expected to become the first ZTE phone launched on Verizon's airwaves, sporting a sliding keypad, 1.3MP camera, or microSD memory card slot. Priced at under $50, the device would be added to the entry level offering at Big Red. As for the Samsung Haven U320, it is expected to land at the carrier as a basic flip phone, priced somewhere at $40 with 2-year contract. Although entry level, the phone is said to come with some pretty interesting features, including a series of lifestyle applications.
