South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics has already brought to the market handsets running under Google's Android operating system, and another one is now rumored to be on its way to the market in the near future, the LG Univa.

The mobile phone has already made an appearance in a leaked roadmap from the company, as well as on a series of live photos that reportedly emerged from Qualcomm India On 2011, and some more images with it are now available.

The upcoming Android-based device was just spotted in Norway, where it showed looks that would make it a worthy successor of the LG Optimus One.

Moreover, info the specifications that this device will sport when available for purchase also emerged, suggesting that it would indeed be the younger flavor of last year's popular device.

The upcoming LG Univa will land on shelves with an 800MHz application processor inside, which is complemented by an Adreno 200 GPU.

Moreover, the new device should hit the market with a fairly large 3.5-inch display capable of delivering an HVGA resolution, and should sport a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back.

The specifications list of the new device also includes a 1,500mAh battery, as well as the latest version of Google's Android operating system, namely 2.3.4 Gingerbread. LG's own user interface should be loaded on top of it.

For the time being, nothing was officially confirmed on the existence of this mobile phone, and we'll have to wait for an official announcement to be made to learn whether these specs will pan out.

For the time being, however, we'll take the available info on the new handset with a grain of salt. Hopefully, LG will make the upcoming Univa official in the near future, so keep an eye on this space to learn more details on the phone.
